PURCHASEDOWNLOADIt's beyond me why this album is so rarely mentioned. Instrumental hip-hop esque beats played by some of the jazziest musicians around. I can do nothing but praise this album since it is really fucking good. I loved every second of it, mostly since it's so mind blowing (especially when stoned) that I couldn't help but come back to it again and again. Though I'm not advocating drug usage, but seriously this is the perfect album if you wanna kick back and "relax". But yeah, can't recommend this enough and hey, Pitchfork gave it a 7.6 so you know it isn't complete crap! (couldn't resist)

Omg you will shit bricks, this album is that catchy/infectious/good. Weeaboo factor aside, its not all gay poppy stuff many hate, think YMCK but less jpop/female vocals and more awesome. Granted you can't understand a word, but you can't in black metal any way so don't complain metalfags. Though I still liked their first album better (more breaks), like a week ago I saw a /mu/tant looking for this, so if he never found it, here ya go.
Labels: awesome, Chiptune, digi rock, electronic, rock, so good you pretend to not scrobble it because it may make your charts look less kvlt

DOWNLOADThe Kodan Armada are such an amazing band. Their lyrics and songs are just beyond words sometimes, when the first thing you hear out of an album is "This song is about my dad raping my sister" you know you are in for a ride. And well, its a damn good one. Melodic, beautiful, moving, hard hitting, gritty, insane emotion filled screamo here and it is amongst my favorite. Sooo, good stuff, yeah... Lol...
Only 1000 albums were printed, so good luck finding one!

Once you get past the cover, there is actually a really kickass release here. The aussies behind Drowning the Light really know their stuff, and show it off well. Creating a fluid hybrid of black, doom, and incorporating some death metal influences, The Blood of the Ancients is a killer release. Overall, one of the more impressive albums I have listened to.

It’s hard to imagine that one of the most exciting live electronica acts in the world right now comes from a small city on the southern-most tip of Africa. But the success story behind Cape Towns’ electronica phenomenon Goldfish, has been nothing short of extraordinary. Two Jazz musos hooked up while studying music at varsity, and form a live electronic duo. They record an album themselves with little more than a double bass, a saxophone and a couple of synths. This self-released ‘underground’ album, Caught in the loop, They take their incendiary multiple-instrument live act across the globe, with sold-out shows from Ibiza to Tokyo, from Dubai to Cannes. They open for electronica giants Fatboy Slim, Mr Scruff, The Audio Bullys, Paul van Dyk, Pete Tong and Stereo MC’s. They are hailed as the Re-invention of the DJ, and voted best live act in South Africa. This is Dominic Peters and David Poole, the unassuming surfer/jazz/electronic maniacs that are Goldfish. Standout tracks include "This Is How It Goes" and "Cruising Through".

Someone asked me to upload this for them, so I did. It's a good album, kind of a cool lo-fi/post rock vibe. The music is great, and this particular album has a shoegaze influence. Also, to pump up your hipster cred, the band is basically unknown, so go brag to all your friends about you heard it before they did. Later on in the album it takes on some ethereal tones.

One of the best pop albums of all time. I listened to this 10 times in a row when I first discovered it. It's not as well-known, but it's every bit as good as Pet Sounds and Sgt. Pepper's when it comes to not-actually-that-psychedelic-pop-albums.

This is my all-time favourite electronic music album.
Bitrcush is solo project by Mike Cadoo (Dryft, ex-Gridlock) featuring a perfect blend between cold, electronic and warm, dreamy sounds. Those droning guitars, cold, glitchy drums and mellow vocals form a calm sphere, in which you can transcend your content state of mind. TRIPPY.

Awesome recording of Bach pieces on the Moog synthesizer. Even though the concept isn't groundbreaking or exciting in 2009, the interpretations are still good, and it's definitely worth the download.
