PURCHASE/PREVIEWSDOWNLOADGem from the Planet Mu back catalog. Though only 3 years old, the album is quite interesting and as it should. Barry Lynn is quite the talented fella, though most famous for his dubstep works as Boxcutter his self named IDM album is gold. Lots of nice, rich atmospheres, nicely worked drum patterns, lots of nice glitchy sounds and very enjoyable melodies. It's a shock that I overlooked it for so long since there is a lot to like here.

BUY NOW+GET FREE BONUS CDDOWNLOADThis album was odd, Darkstar are a dubstep/dance duo who have released some really popular singles on Hyperdub and with their first album comes a very cold, forlorn, dark synth-pop esque album that was really a breath of fresh air in the cold winter days. Absolutely loved it. With the album the duo added a vocalist for most tracks that really accents the music.
At first I didn't like it, I'll admit, I expected a bunch more club oriented tracks they are known for. But a month or so later I accidentally gave it a listen and fell in love with it's melancholic sound, dark/beautiful synths and overall pleasing tracks. Really just a great album.
Aidy's Girl really fits right in and adds a lot to the album I think, not that it is a good example of what this album is like, but it really does help set the mood.
Call this my x-mas gift to all you, sorry for the lack of updates but I've been busy (idk whats up with the other folks but I think they are busy too). So enjoy this, very good album that shouldn't be over looked. And if you like it look out for the upcoming James Blake album coming out in February.

ARTIST PAGE + DOWNLOADSWell ain't this a bitch, I spend 30 minutes uploading it to find out the artist gives it out for free... OH WELL, artists description -
"In his debut album ‘Dystopia’, 21 year old producer Davwuh has created a dark soundscape of a future city using expansive electronic sounds. Taking influences from dubstep, idm, electronica and inspired by dystopian fictional settings, Davwuh’s sound belongs to no specific genre, though running themes of darkness, loneliness, confusion and evil run through this album. Though the album was initially intended to be a straight forward collection of dubstep tracks, during production it began to take on a life of its own and look past the traditional dubstep formula into unchartered territories, making it a unique listening experience."
TL;DR this shit is dark and made of win. I also love the 12 Monkeys samples in the first track, such a great way to start an album!!!

SITEPURCHASEDOWNLOADAll I will say is this is a gem, a rare find which makes you say "Damn, this is awesome". It's obscure, funky, Russian electronic music which is all about the glory days of the Cosmonauts and Shepherds which have more in common than you think. It is best described as "Space-age Russian disco music that somehow simultaneously sounds like it belongs in 1950 and 2050." and was one hell of an album the whole way through. Buy it, download it, listen to it, and enjoy it, and stop by OMFO's site for a cool insight on the album.

This is a strange album. I'm not even sure how to properly describe it. I think it's a concept album which follows the first incomplete concept album about the descent of the unicorn prince into Moletopopolis, where he fights the King of the Deathmøles. Both albums are instrumental, so you aren't losing any of the storyline between this album and that one.
