Codeine - The White Birch (1994)

This was one of, if not the album, that created the slowcore genre, not to mention being some of the first proto-post rock. If you're now curious as to how this sounds, simply examine the album cover. It feels like taking a walk through a park in winter, where the air is dead, and the longer you walk the less sure you are that the park is completely real. The whole experience becomes a surreal episode, something for your memory to analyze, twist, and distort, attempting to rationalize it. It begins to snow, and you're walking through this park, into the white.
