I've always wanted to get into Tom Waits. It took me a while, but I finally downloaded Rain Dogs. I was like "WTF.. not at all what I was expecting." But then I listened to The Heart of Saturday Night and everything went fine.
This album is amazing. The cover pretty much sums what you'll get. Nighttime, piano, booze, bars, loneliness, smokes.. What more can one ask for a weekend's night?

I think if you like this one, you should give Closing Time, his first album, a listen. Its also more melodic and laid back than his experimental and weird, but better known stuff. top

Haven't heard this one, but I've known "Rain Dogs" since it was released, and I love its experimentalism... Hope I like this one!
Good job with your blog, by the way.
