Oh yeah, I forgot when I made the last post that I already had a favorite stoner band. So, you guys probably already know Down, but I'll say this anyway. A buncha nice peeps from great similar bands decided to gather and form this. Phil from Pantera, Keenan from Corrosion of Conformity, Windstein from Crowbar and Bower from Eyehategod. So you can pretty much guess what this album is made of: awesome.

It's cool, chilly and yet heavy as fuck. Stone The Crow, track n°10, their most famous song I believe, it's a perfect example of that.

OK, so, I'm definately not the best person to talk about this, but I'll do it anyway. I say this 'cause stoner music is not really my thing. IMHO, it should be heavier, but then shit'd be metal. Whatever.. If you're into stoner, you probably already have this - if not, you should. And if you never heard it before, now it's a great opportunity to give this guys a shot.

Kyuss (pronounced “KAI-us”) is the corner stone of the genre known to many as stoner rock or desert rock. Although derivative of 70s hard rock, Kyuss also managed to sound unique. Primarily this was because guitarist Josh Homme often tuned to a low C, a major third below standard pitch, and also due to singer John Garcia’s paint stripping vocals. The aptly paced and gripping music lend to the feeling of a drive through the desert on a motorcycle, devil may care.
